Disclosure

Affiliate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

In plain terms

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way. You are never charged more for arriving through us, and we never receive a share of anything beyond the retailer's standard commission.

Where you will see it

We disclose in two places, deliberately, so that the commercial nature of a link is clear before you act on it rather than after. While the site carries no paid links, neither notice appears, because a disclosure shown when there is nothing to disclose teaches you to ignore it:

• A note at the top of every guide that contains paid links, before its first link.
• Our Disclosures and image credits page, linked from the footer of every page, which also credits every product photo on the site.

What it does not change

Commission does not decide what we recommend, the order we recommend it in, or what we say about it. We regularly recommend cheaper products over more expensive ones, we tell you when a tool is not worth buying at all, and we keep the drawbacks in. A guide that recommends everything is worthless to you and, eventually, worthless to us.

We do not accept payment for a positive review and we do not publish sponsored content dressed up as editorial. If a product were ever provided to us at no cost, that would be stated on the page it appears on.

Programs we participate in

Counter & Crumb participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. As part of that program, Amazon may set cookies in your browser when you follow one of our links, which is how a purchase is attributed to us. Product prices and availability shown on Amazon are accurate as of the date and time of purchase and are subject to change; any price we mention is a guide only, and the price displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase is the one that applies.
